This way you don't have to download messages first. After the program "kills" all obvious spam and viruses, it processes the rest of the messages. First, it searches for the messages that meet the white list criteria. These are not just the ones from the people you know. White list triggers may be certain keywords, like the names of products that are being sold in your web shop (Golf ball, HTML-2-RTF Pro, Presario, etc) or a typical subject line (Re: pet adoption, for example). These are delivered to your mailbox. The rest of the messages will be parked in the "yellow zone". These are suspicious e-mails that may nevertheless be valid, like e-coupons or newsletters. In most instances, you can simply look at the address and the subject line to see if it's spam or not. Since the message (and attachments) parked in the "yellow zone" are not downloaded without your consent, you don't risk getting infected with a virus or spyware. This solution is especially helpful for web businesses and organizations, because it's the only way to stop spam, without any risks! There are 2 basic zones. The red one is for spam, while the green one is for friends. However, sometimes you cannot correctly identify quality of a received letter before you receive it. The yellow zone is designed for such letters. The letters from this zone are not added to any filters, and you receive all these letters, and then decide what to do with one or another letter. Furthermore, if the program is unable to classify a letter as one from a friendly user or from a spammer, such letter will remain in the yellow zone, waiting for your correction.
